Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) on March 06, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Implementation TREM Emission.

The following has been stated namely: -

• TREM IV and TREM V emission norms for agricultural tractors were introduced from January 01, 2023 and April 01, 2026 respectively, to control emissions.

• It was observed that TREM IV/V tractors may face operational challenges (complex engines, sensors, higher maintenance, and reliability concerns), especially in field conditions.

• Cost impact is significant, with an estimated increase of ₹2–2.5 lakh (TREM IIIA to V) and ₹60,000–₹1 lakh (TREM IV to V) per tractor.

• TREM V is prioritized for low HP (≤19 kW) and high HP (>56 kW) tractors, as these are used in precision farming and export markets.

• TREM IIIA A is introduced as an interim norm (for 19–37 kW range), with stricter limits than TREM IIIA but slightly relaxed compared to TREM V (especially for PM).

• The revised roadmap provides a phased implementation (2026–2032) of emission norms across different power categories, balancing environmental goals and affordability for farmers.
