Secretarial ComplianceThe Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) on April 02, 2026, issued circular regarding the Reporting of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) and systems offered and used by members of the Exchange.

Trading Members are required to report details of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) applications in accordance with Exchange rules and relevant circulars. This requirement applies to all active Trading Members for the period April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, even if they are not using AI/ML systems, in which case a NIL report must be submitted.

Reporting timelines differ based on usage: members using algorithmic software must report on a half-yearly basis within 15 days of the period end, while other members must report annually within 15 days of year-end.

Additionally, members registered with National Stock Exchange of India and other exchanges (such as BSE, MSE, MCX, NCDEX) and using algorithmic systems need to submit AI/ML details only to NSE, which will share the data with other exchanges. Members not registered with NSE must continue reporting directly to the Exchange.
