Industry Specific ComplianceThe Department of Excise and Taxation, Punjab on March 29, 2026, issued the Punjab Intoxicants License and Sales (First Amendment) Orders, 2026, to further amend the Punjab Intoxicants License and Sales Orders, 1956.

The following has been stated namely: -

• Order 2AAA has been inserted, which states the following: -

“The retail licenses for the financial year2026-27 shall be offered for renewal to the existing L-2/L-14A retail licensees. The licensees hall deposit 0.6% of prescribed license fee for the year 2026-27 of a group as renewal fee along with the application for renewal. Reserve price or prescribed license fee of a group in 2026-27 shall be calculated as given hereunder: -

Reserve Price/ Prescribed License Fee of the Groups in 2026-27= Discovered license fee of the group in 2025-26+6.5% increase over the discovered license fee of the group in 2025-26.”

This shall come into force on April 01, 2026.
