The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, on March 31, 2026, has extended the “Free” import policy for Tur/Pigeon Peas (Cajanus Cajan) under ITC (HS) Code 0713 60 00.
As per the amendment issued under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 and the Foreign Trade Policy 2023, the import of Tur, which was earlier allowed freely up to March 31, 2026, will now continue to remain “Free” till March 31, 2027.
Impact:
This extension ensures continued ease of import for Tur, helping stabilize domestic supply and prices, and providing relief to traders and consumers. [Notification No. 72/2025-26]
