The Department of Urban Development, Himachal Pradesh, on March 20, 2026, notified the Nagar Panchayat Amb (Grant of Trade License for Trade Activities, Use of Premises and Storage of Articles in a Premises) Byelaws 2026.
The following has been stated: -
•The Nagar Panchayat Amb Trade License Byelaws, 2026 regulate licensing for trade activities, use of premises, and storage of goods within municipal limits.
•All shops and premises must obtain a license through the online citizen seva portal before conducting specified business activities.
•Licenses may be issued for up to 15 years and can be renewed automatically upon payment of the prescribed fee, with penalties for delays.
•The byelaws define categories of businesses (small, medium, large) and prescribe fee structures based on size and duration, including special rates for fairs and film shooting.
•Licenses are non-transferable except to legal heirs, and strict conditions must be followed, including record maintenance, compliance, and display of the license.
•Penalties include suspension, fines, or cancellation of license for violations, false declarations, or repeated non-compliance.
These Bye Laws shall come into force from April 04, 2026.
