The Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department Haryana, on April 6, 2026, has issued a notification under the Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals Act, 2009 declaring Charkhi Dadri district as a “Controlled Area”.

Complete prohibition on Transport, Entry and exit, Movement of all equine species (horses, donkeys, mules, ponies) within the district.
Reason: To prevent and control the spread of Glanders disease, a highly contagious and serious disease affecting equines.
Legal Basis: Issued under Sections 6 and 7 of the Act, empowering the State to impose movement restrictions in affected areas.
