The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), on April 06, 2026, computed the retail price of Relugolix 120 mg tablet in accordance with Para 5 of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 (DPCO, 2013). The calculation is based on market data where brands having a market share of more than 1% (by Moving Annual Turnover, MAT) are considered for deriving the average price. In this case, three qualifying brands—XELUCIP (Cipla Ltd.), RGOLIX (Ipca Laboratories Pvt. Ltd.), and ORGONIST (Sun Pharma Laboratories Ltd.)—were included, while TESPROLIX (Abbott Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.) was excluded due to its negligible market share (0.09%).
The price per unit (per tablet) for the qualifying brands was taken as ₹189.18, ₹166.67, and ₹163.57 respectively. Based on these, the simple average price was calculated in line with the prescribed formula under Para 5, resulting in a worked-out retail price of ₹200.84 per tablet (excluding GST). This methodology ensures that pricing reflects a fair market-based average, preventing excessive pricing while allowing reasonable returns to manufacturers.
This computed retail price serves as the ceiling for sale of Relugolix 120 mg tablets in the market, ensuring affordability and accessibility for patients. Manufacturers are required to comply with this notified price, subject to applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST) as per prevailing rates.
