The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), on April 06, 2026, computed the retail price of Estradiol 1 mg in accordance with Para 5 of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 (DPCO, 2013). The pricing mechanism under Para 5 is based on a market-driven approach, wherein brands having more than 1% market share (based on Moving Annual Turnover, MAT) are considered to arrive at an average price per unit.
Based on the available market data for August 2025, the eligible brands were analyzed and the average price per unit was calculated following the prescribed methodology. This ensures a balanced approach by considering prevailing market prices while excluding insignificant players with negligible market share, thereby maintaining fairness and transparency in price fixation.
Accordingly, the worked-out retail price for Estradiol 1 mg has been determined at ₹12.27 per tablet (excluding GST). This notified price acts as a ceiling price, ensuring affordability for patients while requiring manufacturers to comply with the prescribed limits, subject to applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST).
