•The Union Cabinet has approved Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) rates for Phosphatic and Potassic fertilizers for Kharif 2026 (April–September).
•The estimated subsidy outlay is ₹41,533.81 crore, higher than the ₹37,216.15 crore allocated for Kharif 2025.
•The move aims to ensure the availability of fertilizers like DAP and NPKS to farmers at affordable prices.
•Subsidy will be provided to fertilizer companies under the NBS scheme to maintain a stable supply despite global price fluctuations.
