The University Grants Commission (UGC) on April 01, 2026, issued the Universalization of the Aadhaar-Based Payment (ABP) system.
The following has been stated namely: -
• UGC has made Aadhaar-Based Payment (ABP) compulsory for all scholarships and fellowships under its schemes via the SFMP portal.
• Beneficiaries must link (seed) Aadhaar with their bank accounts and update details on SFMP to receive payments.
• Beneficiaries must complete seeding by April 15, 2026, and Nodal Officers must verify by April 20, 2026 to ensure timely disbursement for FY 2026–27.
