Labour ComplianceThe Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), on April 06, 2026, modifying the “Description of Stores Accepted” for certain items under DG-ESIC Rate Contracts (RC-164 and RC-168).

The amendment replaces brand names with generic names for specific items supplied by Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Limited. The affected items include:

Item Nos. 269, 270, 271 (RC-164) – Omeprazole formulations

Item No. 2712 (RC-168) – Gliclazide + Metformin combination

Earlier, these items were specified with brand names such as Omez, Omez Insta, and Reclimet-XR Forte. Now, they are standardized to reflect only generic drug names, aligning procurement with generic-based specifications.

This amendment has been issued at the request of the supplier and ensures that all supplied drugs continue to comply with approved composition, strength, and standards under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. The change promotes uniformity, transparency, and generic procurement practices in ESIC medical facilities.
