The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on April 10, 2026, issued a notification regarding the declaration of Drug "Not of Standard Quality" on Testing.
The following has been stated: -
•A batch of Nifedipine has been declared “Not of Standard Quality” after failing dissolution standards as per IP 2022 testing.
•The sample was tested by the Food and Drugs Laboratory, Vadodara, and found non-compliant.
•All stocks must be immediately withdrawn from stores, dispensaries, and patient care areas, and usage stopped.
•Vendor must replace the batch within 15 days or take back stock and refund payment, failing which risk purchase action may be initiated.
•Authorities must take action as per tender conditions and maintain records of all corrective steps taken.
