The Government of Haryana on April 09, 2026, issued revision in the Minimum Wages in Haryana.
The Government of Haryana has revised the minimum wages for all categories of workers under the Code on Wages, 2019, effective April 1, 2026, based on recommendations of the constituted committee. This revision replaces the earlier wage notification issued in October 2015 and applies across all employments, establishments, factories, and contract labour in the state.
The revised monthly minimum wages are: Unskilled – ₹15,220.71, Semi-skilled – ₹16,780.74, Skilled – ₹18,500.81, and Highly Skilled – ₹19,425.85 (with corresponding daily rates specified). These are basic wages only and cannot be split into allowances. Additionally, wages will be adjusted for inflation with 100% neutralization based on the Consumer Price Index as per applicable rules.
The notification ensures uniform wage protection and fairness, including no gender-based wage discrimination, and mandates that employers (including principal employers in case of contractors) ensure payment of minimum wages. Workers cannot be paid below the prescribed rates for their skill category, and apprentices will be governed separately under the Apprentices Act.
Special provisions include calculation norms (monthly wages divided by 26 days for per-day rates), and trainees being paid at least 75% of applicable wages (subject to a floor of unskilled wages) for a maximum period of one year. Separate wage rates for brick kiln workers will be notified independently.
