The Department of Finance (Excise), Rajasthan, on April 01, 2026, notified the Rajasthan Excise (Amendment) Rules, 2026, further to amend the Rajasthan Excise Rules, 1956.
The following has been stated: -
•The amendment to Rule 54 of the Rajasthan Excise Rules, 1956, revises the license fee amounts by increasing them from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 2,500 and from Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 20,000 in relevant clauses.
•It also introduces a new proviso stating that violation of any terms or conditions of an occasional license will lead to cancellation of the license and registration.
•Additionally, a penalty of Rs. 50,000 will be imposed for such violations. Overall, the amendment strengthens compliance and increases financial penalties.
They shall come into force at once.
