The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) on April 10, 2026, notified Escalation and Discount Rates for Transmission Services (April–September 2026).
The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), in line with the Ministry of Power’s tariff-based competitive bidding guidelines, has notified key financial parameters applicable for transmission service agreements for the period April 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026.
An annual escalation rate of 3.59% has been specified for calculating inflation-linked escalable transmission charges. This rate will be used for payment adjustments under transmission service agreements during the specified period.
Additionally, CERC has notified a discount rate of 9.17% for determining financial relief in cases of Force Majeure events and Change in Law during the construction period, as per the standard bidding documents for inter-state transmission projects.
