The NPCI Bharat BillPay (NBBL) on March 25, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Advisory on Ensuring Compliance and Vigilance Across Agent Institutions, Agents and Billers.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Some entities in the ecosystem may be involved in unlawful or non-compliant activities violating regulatory norms and BBPS guidelines.
• Operating Units must stay vigilant about the activities of their Agent Institutions, Agents, and Billers.
• They should ensure the BBPS platform is not misused for unauthorized or illegal activities.
• Regular monitoring and oversight of all participants is required to ensure compliance with regulations and procedural guidelines.
• Immediate corrective actions (including suspension or termination) should be taken against any non-compliant entity, along with strengthening monitoring controls.
