Industry Specific ComplianceThe Maharashtra Maritime Board on April 09, 2026, issued the Maharashtra Maritime Board (Leasing of Stalls and Leasing of Land for setting up of Stalls) Regulations, 2026.

The following has been stated namely: -

• They shall apply to all areas falling within the jurisdiction of the Maharashtra Maritime Board.

• The expression "stall" shall include stalls leased out and land leased out for the setting up of stalls.

• The Reserve Price for the Annual Lease Rent shall be fixed as follows:

(a) Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation and Thane District: Ten per cent (10%) of the Ready Reckoner rates of the land or adjoining land for the prevailing year shall be the Reserve Price for the Annual Lease Rent of a stall.

(b) For all other areas: Eight per cent (8%) of the Ready Reckoner rates of the land or adjoining land for the prevailing year shall be the Reserve Price for the Annual Lease Rent of a stall.

• The stall holder shall be selected through an Open Tender Process. The bidder quoting the highest bid above the Reserve Price shall be declared as the successful bidder, and the bid amount shall be treated as the Annual Lease Rent.

• The Annual Lease Rent fixed for a stall shall be increased every year by three per cent (3%) over the lease rent payable for the immediately preceding year.

This shall come into force on April 09, 2026.
