The Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) on March 19, 2026, issued a notification regarding the regulation of Effluent Disposal Systems in Textile Units.
The following has been stated: -
•Under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board has framed stricter rules for textile units in Pali, Balotra, and Jodhpur regarding effluent disposal.
•Units with mixed disposal systems (own ETP and CETP) within the same premises will no longer be allowed, and existing consents will be revoked to enforce a single system.
•Existing such units must surrender CETP membership within 30 days and ensure compliance with the new norms.
•Adjacent units with different disposal systems but common ownership may operate only under strict conditions specified in Annexure-1.
•These units are classified as sensitive industries, and violations (like illegal discharge) will attract strict action with monitoring by regional officers.
