The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) on April 13, 2026, issued a notification regarding the de-linking of MIDs from UAN in case the contribution is remitted by the employer.
The following has been stated: -
•EPFO has extended the facility for de-linking wrong Member IDs (MIDs) from UAN, even where contributions exist.
•Members must raise requests via the portal, which are first reviewed by the employer for approval or rejection.
•If the employer delays/rejects contributions that exceed limits, the case is escalated to the Regional Office for review.
•Final approval/rejection is done by RPFC (Compliance) after proper examination.
•Requests are not allowed where claims are processed, or contributions exceed 6 times; due diligence is required to avoid errors.
