Industry Specific ComplianceThe Department of Education, Gujarat, on April 09, 2026, notified the Master of Business Administration Course (Regulation of Admission and Payment of Fees) (Amendment) Rules, 2026, further to amend the Master of Business Administration (Regulation of Admission and Payment of Fees) Rules, 2020.

The following has been stated: -

•The Gujarat Government has amended the MBA Admission Rules, 2020, to introduce a biannual admission system with two cycles—July (regular) and January (second phase). 

•The January session will be used to fill vacant seats remaining after the July admissions, subject to conditions such as a minimum number of vacancies in government and aided institutes. 

•Admissions will follow a priority order, starting with candidates from the July merit list, followed by other eligible candidates, including those with and without CMAT scores. 

•Government and grant-in-aid institutes will fill seats through the Admission Committee, while unaided institutes will conduct admissions at their own level. 

•The process, seat availability, and guidelines will be notified and conducted in line with AICTE regulations.

They shall come into force on April 09, 2026.
