The Directorate of Education, U.T. Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, on April 10, 2026, notified the Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu School Education Rules, 2026.
The following has been stated: -
•The rules regulate school education.
•They define key stages of education (Foundational to Secondary) aligned with NEP 2020, along with the roles of authorities, schools, and teachers.
•The UT is divided into Blocks and Educational Clusters for better administration, supervision, and regulation of schools.
•Schools are classified into categories (Pre-primary to Higher Secondary, training institutes, etc.), with provisions for free education up to age 14 and minority rights.
•The rules empower authorities to prescribe curriculum, language policy, vocational education, facilities, and co-curricular activities, ensuring holistic development.
They shall come into force on April 10, 2026.
