Labour ComplianceThe State Election Commission, Haryana, on April 13, 2026, issued a notification regarding General/Bye-Elections of Municipal Bodies in the State -- Prohibition of sale of liquor during elections.

The following has been stated: -

•The State Election Commission, Haryana, has announced municipal elections with polling on May 10, 2026, and counting on May 13, 2026. 

•To ensure free and fair elections, a strict ban on the sale and distribution of liquor has been imposed. ‘Dry Days’ will be observed for 48 hours before polling, including re-poll on May 12, 2026 (if any), and counting day till 6:00 PM. 

•Liquor sales and service are prohibited in all establishments, with strict control on storage and movement. 

•Authorities must enforce the ban in adjoining areas and appoint nodal officers to ensure compliance.
