The Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) on March 30, 2026, notified regarding the amendment to the older notifications related to Guidelines for Effluent Treatment and Disposal by Health Care Facilities (HCFs).
The following has been stated:
• The Board has partially modified its earlier orders regarding treatment and disposal of effluent from Health Care Facilities (HCFs). HCFs with up to 10 beds located outside sewer network coverage are permitted to dispose of treated liquid waste through septic tanks and soak pits after disinfection, with a strict prohibition on discharging outside the premises; they shall connect to sewer lines once available.
• HCFs with 11–100 beds shall connect to a common sewage treatment system with a terminal STP, and if not feasible, they are required to install their own Effluent/Sewage Treatment Plant by September 30, 2026.
• Additionally, certain HCFs discharging wastewater into public sewers connected to STPs shall submit certification from competent authorities. All other conditions of previous orders remain unchanged, and the revised directions take immediate effect.
