The Government of Karnataka on April 13, 2026, issued the Draft Greater Bengaluru Area (Advertisement) Amendment Rules, 2026, further to amend the Greater Bengaluru Area (Advertisement) Rules, 2025.
The following has been stated:
• The amendment to Rule 3 provides that if a tender for advertisement rights receives no bids, the Government may allow a reduction of the advertisement fee requirement to 40% of the total or erected advertisement space, whichever is higher. It further states that if the successful bidder fails to start full payment within 12 months of the agreement, the concerned areas will be deemed terminated and re-tendered, and the bid security will be forfeited.
• Objections or suggestions may be addressed to the Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Urban Development Department, Vikasa Soudha, Bengaluru-560001, by May 13, 2026.
