Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Maharashtra, on April 15, 2026, notified the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code (Second Amendment) Act, 2026, to further amend the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966.

The following has been stated: -

•In Section 37A, sub-sections (1) and (2), the phrase "taking the prior permission" or "permission" is replaced with the word "approval".

•A new proviso is added to Section 37A regarding the sale, transfer, redevelopment, or change of use of Government land.

•Approvals for land use, FSI, or TDR issued via Government Resolution or order before the 2012 Amendment Act are now deemed validly made.

•Validated approvals are subject to the payment of premium, Nazrana, charges, or a share of unearned income.
