The Commission for Air Quality Management in the National Capital Region (CAQM) on April 15, 2026, issued a notification regarding Relaxation in the Standard List of Approved Fuels stipulated under Direction No. 65 dated June 23, 2022, as amended.
The following has been stated: -
•Due to ongoing global energy supply disruptions, the use of alternative fuels in place of natural gas was temporarily permitted for industries and establishments in the NCR.
•The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has confirmed that the disruption, which began in early March 2026, still continues, while the Central Pollution Control Board has extended its advisory allowing such alternate fuel use until May 12, 2026.
•In view of this, the Commission has further extended the relaxation for another month, i.e., until May 13, 2026, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
