Labour ComplianceThe Government of Maharashtra, on April 17, 2026, issued a circular regarding paid holiday for employees on account of Assembly Bye-Elections.

The following has been stated: -

•The Government of Maharashtra has mandated a paid holiday on April 23, 2026, for employees who are registered voters in the 223-Rahuri and 201-Baramati constituencies to enable them to vote. 

•This applies to all establishments, including private companies, shops, hotels, IT firms, and industrial units, even if employees are working outside the constituency. 

•In essential services, a minimum of 2–3 hours leave must be provided if a full day off is not possible. 

•Non-compliance may lead to legal action against the employer.
