The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) on March 25, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Revision of Ceiling Prices for Coronary Stents.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Prices are updated based on Wholesale Price Index (WPI) increase of 0.64956% for 2025 over 2024.
• Bare Metal Stents (BMS) ceiling price is fixed at ₹10,762.15 per unit (excluding GST).
• Drug Eluting Stents (DES) including metallic DES and bioresorbable/biodegradable stents are capped at ₹39,186.03 per unit (excluding GST).
• Manufacturers with MRPs below the ceiling price may revise prices upward only as per WPI rules under DPCO 2013.
• GST can be added only if actually paid or payable to the government.
• Retailers and dealers must display updated price lists prominently for public access.
• Non-compliance will lead to recovery of overcharged amount with interest under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 and Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
The revised prices are effective from April 01, 2026
