Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) on March 25, 2026, issued the notification regarding Fixation and Revision of Ceiling Prices of Scheduled Drug Formulations under DPCO, 2013, Effective from April 01.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed revised ceiling prices for scheduled drug formulations, incorporating a WPI increase of 0.64956% (2025 over 2024), excluding GST. 

• Manufacturers selling above the notified ceiling price must reduce MRPs to within the ceiling limit, while those below it may revise prices upward only as per WPI provisions under DPCO, 2013. 

• Approval & Applicability Rules 

o New pack sizes or unlisted formulations require prior NPPA approval. 

o Certain drugs (e.g., Enoxaparin, Paclitaxel, Budesonide) have extended applicability to other strengths based on defined ratios. 

• Reporting & Regulatory Obligations Manufacturers must: 

o Submit price revisions (Form-II) within 15 days 

o Issue price lists (Form-V) 

o File quarterly returns (Form-III) 

o Notify discontinuation 6 months in advance (Form-IV) 

• Non-compliance (overpricing, non-reporting, etc.) will result in recovery of overcharged amount with interest under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 and the Essential Commodities Act, 1955. 

The revised prices are effective from April 01, 2026
