Labour ComplianceThe Government of Goa on April 18, 2026, notified regarding the Temporary Closure Order for Commercial Establishments during Shree Devi Lairai Jatra, Shirgao.

The following has been stated:

• The order mandates the complete closure of all stalls, shops, hotels, and similar establishments within the designated festival zones of the Shree Devi Lairai Jatra at Shirgao, Bicholim, from 6:00 PM on April 21, 2026, to 8:00 AM on April 22, 2026, due to an expected crowd during the Homkhand ritual. 

• The restriction is imposed to ensure public safety, smooth crowd movement, and unobstructed emergency access, as per the Event Management Plan and disaster management guidelines. 

• Only approved stalls (as per order dated April 10, 2026) are exempt, subject to conditions. 

• The Joint Task Force and police are directed to strictly enforce the order, remove unauthorised structures, and prevent violations.
