EHS ComplianceThe Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, on April 17, 2026, issued the Bio-Medical Waste Management (Amendment) Rules, 2026, to further amend the Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016.

The following has been stated:

• In rule 11, in sub-rule (1), after the words "Departments of Health," the word "Ayush" shall be inserted.

• In rule 12 of the said rule, in sub-rule (6), after the words "District Health Officer," the words "representative, as nominated by the State or Union Territory Department of Ayush," shall be inserted.
