Secretarial ComplianceThe Multi Commodity Exchange Clearing Corporation Limited (MCX) on April 20, 2026, notified regarding the submission of Half-yearly Internal Audit Report by Clearing Members (ITCM & PCM) for the half year ended March 31, 2026.

The following has been stated:

• MCX has mandated that all Clearing Members who undertook at least one clearing transaction for other trading members or custodial participants between October 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026, shall conduct an internal audit and submit the report by May 31, 2026. The report shall be submitted through the Member Reporting Portal (MRP) and via email, strictly in prescribed formats with all annexures. 

• Auditors are required to follow defined sampling guidelines, provide detailed disclosures for non-compliances (including the number of instances and financial impact), justify “not applicable” observations, and furnish sample verification details. 

• Specific checks include compliance with bank guarantees created out of client funds as per Securities and Exchange Board of India norms. The audit certificate shall be digitally signed, and reports shall be submitted in both Excel and PDF formats with management comments. Only complete submissions with all annexures will be considered valid. 

• Penalties for delay, non-submission, or non-compliance will apply as per existing MCXCCL circulars. 

• Additionally, only SEBI/Exchange-empanelled auditors are permitted to conduct such audits, and members must comply with SEBI guidelines on appointment and rotation of internal auditors to ensure stronger compliance and audit quality.
