The following has been stated:
• It pertains to compliance with UNSC sanctions and regulatory obligations. It communicates updates on United Nations Security Council (UNSC) sanctions lists, requiring members to ensure that no transactions or associations are conducted with individuals/entities listed under such sanctions. Members are mandated to screen clients, counterparties, and transactions against the updated sanction lists and immediately report any matches or suspicious activities to the exchange and relevant authorities.
• The circular reinforces adherence to anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CFT) norms, aligning with directives issued by regulators like the Securities and Exchange Board of India and international agencies.
• Overall, it strengthens due diligence, monitoring, and reporting responsibilities of members to ensure compliance with global sanctions frameworks and maintain market integrity.
