Labour ComplianceThe Department of Labour, Factories, Boilers & Insurance Medical Services, Andhra Pradesh, on April 06, 2026, issued the Draft Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026.

The following has been stated: -

•The Andhra Pradesh Rules, 2026, issued under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, extend across the state and come into force upon publication in the Official Gazette. 

•They define key terms such as “appeal,” “appellate authority,” “competent person,” and “hazardous substance” to ensure clarity in implementation. 

•The rules mandate that all establishments must obtain mandatory registration through an online portal within 60 days, with fees based on the number of workers and penalties for delays. 

•Provisions include deemed registration within 7 days, non-transferability of certificates, and compulsory display at the workplace. 

•Employers must update any changes, ensure compliance, and may face cancellation or penalties for misrepresentation or non-compliance. The rules also provide a structured appeal mechanism allowing employers to challenge orders within 30 days before the appellate authority.

The objections and suggestions may be submitted within forty-five days.
