Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB) on March 27, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Guidelines for OTT Platforms mandating Features for Hearing and Visually Impaired Audiences.

The following has been stated namely: -

• Accessibility guidelines were issued for OTT platforms to support people with hearing and visual impairments. 

• The guidelines require all new OTT content to include at least one accessibility feature: captions or Indian Sign Language for hearing-impaired users, and audio descriptions for visually impaired users, following a phased rollout schedule.
