Commercial ComplianceThe Department of Industry, Energy, Labor and Mining, Govt. of Maharashtra on April 17, 2026, notified regarding the Cancellation of Industrial Area Status for Bhiwandi Villages (Thane).

The following has been stated:

• The Government has withdrawn the industrial area status previously granted to certain lands in Villages Vashere, Atkoli, Bhadane, and Sape in Taluka Bhiwandi, District Thane. These areas were earlier declared industrial under a notification dated October 17, 2025. However, upon review, the Government determined that these areas are no longer required for industrial development.

• Accordingly, with effect from April 17, 2026, the provisions of Chapter VI of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Act, 1961, will no longer apply to these areas, and their designation as an industrial area stands cancelled. Actions taken before this date will remain valid.
