Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Himachal Pradesh, on March 31, 2026, issued amendments in the Punjab Distillery Rules, 1932, as applicable in Himachal Pradesh.

The following has been stated: -

•Sub-rule (3-A) of Rule 9.5 has been amended to revise bottling rates for foreign spirit and country liquor, prescribing ₹10.50 per 750 ml for lease/franchise brands within the State and ₹2.50 per unit for export, while own brands attract ₹6.50 within the State and ₹1.50 for export. 

•For country liquor, the rate is ₹2.00 per 750 ml within the State and ₹1.00 for export, with pints and nips to be converted into 750 ml units for calculation. 

•Additionally, license fee amounts under Rule 9.5 have been increased from ₹20,00,000 to ₹22,00,000 for D-2 licenses and from ₹9,00,000 to ₹10,00,000 for D-2A licenses. 

•Further, sub-rule 9.5(3)(i), (ii), and (iii) have been substituted to align with these revised rates. 

•Overall, the amendment standardizes rates and updates fee structures for bottling and licensing.

•The amendment will take effect from April 01, 2026
