Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Himachal Pradesh, on March 31, 2026, issued amendments in the Punjab Brewery Rules, 1932, as applicable in Himachal Pradesh.

The following has been stated: -

•Rule 10.7(3) has been substituted to prescribe licence fees for B-1 licences on beer at ₹2.50 per 650 ml unit for consumption within Himachal Pradesh and ₹1.50 per unit for export, subject to a minimum of ₹20,00,000. 

•Rule 10.5(C) has been amended to fix the fee for the grant of a Letter of Intent (LOI) for establishing a brewery at ₹10 lakh and ₹3 lakh for extension. 

•The first LOI extension is permitted by the Commissioner of State Taxes and Excise, while the second requires approval from the Administrative Secretary with payment of the prescribed fee. 

•In exceptional cases beyond the applicant’s control, further extension may be granted only by the Minister Incharge, with no extensions allowed thereafter.

•The amendment will take effect from April 01, 2026
