class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The State Taxes and Excise Department, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh on March 31, 2026, notified the amendment to the notified the amendment to the Himachal Pradesh Liquor Licence Rules 1986.
The amended sub-rule 35A(22-C) under rule 35A introduces a fixed beer quota for FY 2026–27 across districts in Himachal Pradesh, totaling 1,49,05,737 bulk litres (BLs). This quota is separate from the license fee applicable to country liquor and IMFL.
Licensees shall lift at least 80% of their Minimum Guaranteed Quota (MGQ), failing which a penalty of ₹25 per BL will be charged along with the license fee. Conversely, licensees who lift their entire allotted quota will be allowed to purchase additional beer quota at 50% of the prescribed license fee.
