Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Himachal Pradesh, on March 31, 2026, issued amendments in the Himachal Pradesh Liquor License Rules, 1986.

The following has been stated: -

•Rule 38(1)(c) has been amended to mandate registration of liquor, Indian Made Wine, and Cider brands (excluding imported foreign liquor) with the Financial Commissioner (Excise) at ₹1,50,000 and ₹10,000 per brand, respectively, before sale.

•The fee under Rule 38(1-B) (iii) has been increased from ₹1,20,000 to ₹1,50,000.

•Schedule ‘A’ has been substituted to revise annual license fees for various categories such as L-1, L-1A, L-1B, L-2, and others, with updated fixed and variable fee structures. 

•Overall, the amendment updates brand registration charges and restructures license fees across multiple liquor license categories.

•The amendment will take effect from April 01, 2026
