The Department of Tourism Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (Tourism Department, DNH & DD), on April 17, 2026, has notified the Goa, Daman & Diu Registration of Tourist Trade (3r Amendment) Rules, 2026 to further amend the Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu Registration of Tourist Trade Act, 1982 after completion of the public consultation process with no objections received.
The amendment revises registration fees for hotels and travel agents, categorizing hotel keepers from ₹50,000 (Category A) to ₹5,000 (Category E), while travel agents are required to pay ₹5,000 (standard) or ₹2,000 for smaller operators such as excursion agents and tourist guides. Additionally, key changes have been made for Bed & Breakfast/Homestay establishments, including removal of the mandatory owner-residence condition, increase in maximum rooms from 6 to 8, and delegation of documentation requirements to the prescribed authority.
Further, the notification revises registration fees under Rule 14(2) for tourism-related service providers such as tourist boats, taxis, camping agencies, and equipment dealers, generally fixing fees at ₹5,000 (₹2,000 for porters). The rules come into force immediately upon notification.
