Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Arunachal Pradesh on March 15, 2026, notified the amendment to Rule 6 of the Arunachal Pradesh Food Security Rule, 2015.

The following has been stated:

• The Government has amended the eligibility criteria under the National Food Security Act, 2013, by revising Rule 6 of the Arunachal Pradesh Food Security Rules, 2015. The update introduces detailed inclusion and exclusion criteria to better identify beneficiaries under NFSA/TPDS based on current socio-economic conditions.

• The inclusion criteria prioritize vulnerable groups such as homeless persons, low-income households (earning below ₹4 lakh annually), landless laborers, small farmers, widows, disabled persons, migrant workers, and tribal groups, including PVTGs.

• The exclusion criteria remove relatively well-off households, including those owning large houses, luxury vehicles, significant land or businesses, government employees above a certain pay level, and income/professional tax payers.

• The revised rules aim to ensure that food security benefits reach genuinely needy sections, and district authorities are directed to strictly follow these criteria with immediate effect.
