The Ministry of Textile (MoT), on April 22, 2026, fixed the maximum ex-factory price for 580 gm Type A and Type B B-Twill jute bags at ₹206,773 per MT (₹11,992.84 per 100 bags) for April 2026, excluding GST.
The notification specifies that these bags must conform to Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Specification IS 16186:2014, including prescribed size, weight, and strength parameters, along with mandatory identification markings and BIS certification.
It further mandates that all bags bear the prescribed emblem and manufacturer details, and clarifies that GST shall be payable additionally over and above the notified ex-factory price.
