Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoAFW) on April 23, 2026, notified regarding the fixation of Maximum Sale Price for Bt. Cotton Seeds for FY 2026–27.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has notified that the maximum sale price of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt.) cotton seeds will remain aligned with the price specified in the earlier notification dated March 27, 2025. This applies to a standard packet of 475 grams (Refugia-in-Bag seeds containing 5%–10% non-Bt cotton) for the financial year 2026–27 across India.

The notification has been issued under the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 and the Cotton Seeds Price (Control) Order, 2015, after considering recommendations from the designated committee.

Overall, the decision ensures price stability and regulatory continuity in the sale of Bt. cotton seeds, preventing arbitrary price increases and safeguarding farmer interests nationwide.
