Labour ComplianceThe Labour Department, Govt. of Uttarakhand on April 23, 2026, notified regarding the Revision of Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for Scheduled Employment (Effective April 01, 2026).

The following has been stated:

•The Government has revised the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for employees engaged in various scheduled employments based on the increase in the All India Consumer Price Index (Base 2016=100). The average index for July–December 2025 rose to 148, reflecting an increase of 9 points over the base index of 139. Accordingly, VDA has been calculated at ₹57.60 per point, resulting in a revised allowance of ₹518 per month, effective from April 1, 2026.

• This revised VDA is uniformly applicable across a wide range of scheduled employments, including commercial establishments, construction, manufacturing industries, transport, healthcare, education, hospitality, and other sectors listed in the notification.
