The International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) on April 24, 2026, issued a notification regarding strengthening the Capital Raising & Aircraft Leasing Framework at GIFT IFSC.
The following has been stated: -
•The International Financial Services Centres Authority approved key frameworks in its 28th meeting held on April 17, 2026.
•New frameworks for Preferential Issues, QIPs, and Rights Issues under the IFSCA Listing Regulations, 2024, were introduced to help listed entities raise capital efficiently.
•Draft amendments were approved to enable Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) structures for leasing and financing within GIFT IFSC.
•These changes aim to strengthen the aircraft leasing ecosystem, which already includes over 370 aviation assets leased from IFSC.
•The framework allows registration of Trust and Company Service Providers (TCSPs) and supports end-to-end structuring of leasing transactions in India.
•Overall, the reforms are expected to attract global investors, reduce offshore dependency, and boost GIFT IFSC as a global aviation finance hub.
