Labour ComplianceThe Government of Uttarakhand, on April 23, 2026, issued a notification regarding the revised Variable Dearness Allowance for employees working in scheduled employments listed in the notification.

The following has been stated: -

•Issued under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, the state revises Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) based on AICPI changes.

•VDA is calculated at ₹57.60 per point increase above index 139, with the Jan–June 2024 average index at 140.

•Accordingly, a VDA of ₹58 is payable to workers across all listed scheduled employments.

•The revised VDA applies uniformly to a wide range of sectors, including shops, construction, manufacturing, transport, and services.

•The order ensures standardized inflation-linked wage adjustments and is effective for the specified period as per the notification.
