The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on April 24, 2026, issued a notification regarding Telecom Equipment Standards.
The following has been stated: -
•The Central Government, under the Telecommunications Act, 2023, and relevant 2025 rules, has notified new standards for telecom equipment effective upon Gazette publication.
•These include TEC 72041:2025 for testing micro ducts used in indoor and outdoor applications.
•Additionally, TEC 57090:2025 establishes standards for the scheme and taxonomy of an AI incident database in telecom and critical digital infrastructure.
