Labour ComplianceThe Government of Uttarakhand on April 22, 2026, has revised the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) payable under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, for scheduled employments in the State. The revision is based on the All India Consumer Price Index (Base 2016=100), where the average index for January 2025 to June 2025 stands at 144.

Accordingly, VDA has been calculated as (144–139) × ₹57.60 = ₹288, and shall be applicable for the period from October 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. This revised VDA is uniformly applicable across a wide range of scheduled employments, including shops and establishments, construction, manufacturing units, transport, healthcare, education, and various industrial sectors.

The notification ensures standardised compensation adjustment for inflation across all listed employments, thereby safeguarding wage parity and worker welfare across industries in the State.
