Industry Specific ComplianceThe Industries, Energy, Labour and Mining Department, Maharashtra on March 25, 2026, issued the Notification on Voluntary Aadhaar Authentication for Construction Workers and Beneficiaries in Maharashtra

The following has been stated namely: -

• The Government of India (MeitY) has approved the use of Aadhaar authentication for the Industries, Energy, Labour and Mining Department, Maharashtra. 

• This approval is granted under the Aadhaar Act, 2016 and Aadhaar Authentication Rules, 2020, and applies on a voluntary basis. 

• Aadhaar authentication will be used for construction workers during registration, renewal, and issuance of smart ID cards. 

• It will also cover family members of workers to prevent duplicate registrations. 

• Aadhaar authentication will be used for officials/staff as well, to help create a centralized beneficiary database for the Maharashtra Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board using Yes/No and e-KYC methods.
